Creabilis was founded in 2003 by Silvano Fumero, former Executive Vice-President and Head of Global R&D at Serono, and Alfredo Boni to commercialise world-class research in kinases and cytokines carried out at the University of Modena & Reggio Emilia. The Company has since made excellent progress in indentifying programs with high commercial potential from its science base and has built a valuable pipeline of product candidates.

- Appointment of Tony Wilson as Chief Executive Officer.
- In March 2008 Creabilis completed a €20 million Series A fundraising led by Sofinnova Partners in collaboration with NeoMed Management.
2007
- Phase I trial of CT327 conducted in the UK. Found CT327 to be safe and well tolerated.
- Co-financing of the CT500 project from the Lombardy Region.
- Grant received from the Piedmont Region to support the CT400 project.
2006
- Collaboration established with University of Turin relating to polymer conjugation.
- Creation of new derivatives of K-252a for systemic treatment. CT335 program begins.
2005
- Entered collaborations with Cephalon Inc (US) and Bio3 Research (Milano) for the development of K-252a based products for psoriasis and restenosis.
2004
- Collaboration with Nautilus Biotech (France) for the development of HMGB1 antagonists for CT500 program.
- Collaboration with Bio3 for the development of K252a in cardiovascular diseases and restenosis.
- Grant awarded from the Piedmont Region to support CT327 program.
- Collaboration with Bioindustry Park Canavese to provide full time Creabilis research staff.
2003
- In-licensing of core patent on topical use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors to treat skin disorders characterised by excessive skin proliferation.
- Creabilis founded.
